From cars to cosmic collisions, there’s a lot we can learn from two objects moving against each other. We’ll learn forces, motion, acceleration, and collisions through the use of Pocket Labs, tablets, and test vehicles. Students learn how to make a simple accelerometer and refine engineering solutions to minimize the effects of a car collision. From there, we’ll go to space, constructing a model of an impactor on an Earth collision course and how we can divert it.
